Ooni stops convoy to find missing journalist

Published by

THE Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, over the weekend, surprised members of his entourage when he ordered his convoy to stop having discovered that one of the journalists who followed him to an event was missing.

Oba Adeyeye was returning from an event which took place at Osogbo Tennis Club, Osogbo, when he overheard that one of the cameramen in his entourage was missing.

The cameraman, identified as Mr Kunle Bowade, an employee of a media consulting firm, was said to have missed the convoy.

Despite the fact that Oba Ogunwusi convoy had left the venue of the event, he ordered the stoppage of his convoy at Okefia area of the town, which is few kilometres away from where the event took place.

While many occupants in the vehicles that were in his convoy pleaded with the monarch to proceed with the trip, with the conviction that the missing cameraman would join them later at Ile-Ife, the monarch rebuffed the plea and sent some people to go and search for him.

Those that went to search for him returned to the spot about 25 minutes later.

Among the personalities in Ooni’s entourage were former Kano State governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; the Ataoja of Osogbo,  Oba Jimoh Olanipekun and a host of others.

Speaking with newsmen on the development, Dayo Fasola David, Director of Vid-vision Media, the media consulting firm whose staff got missing, lauded the fatherly concern of the royal father and charged all other well-to-do people in the society to be humane in their ways of life.
