Ooni shower praises on Olubamiji over Canada award

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has commended Canada-based Nigerian, Adeola Olubamiji, who recently made history as the first black person to bag Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada.
Olubamiji was honoured with a prestigious award tagged: Woman of Outstanding Achievement in Education, among other Nigerians at the recently held 150th anniversary of Canada, for her immense contribution to science and technology.
Eminent royal dignitaries that graced the award presentation include Ooni’s wife, Wuraola; Oloba of Oba-Ile, Oba Adekunle Oyeyemi; Eze Uzu II of Akwa, Dr Gibson Nwosu, among others.
Other dignitaries include Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Ahmed Hussen; acting Nigeria High Commissioner to Canada, Oluremi Oliyide; Chief Mrs Oyenike Okundaye of Nike Arts Gallery and other celebrities.
In his address, Ogunwusi expressed his delight at the impact Nigerians are making to the development of the country, just as he added that he would not relent in his advocacy for youth empowerment both in Nigeria and beyond.
Expressing her gratitude Olubamiji, restated that she would not relent in her passion in empowering youths and women.
“I will also continue to support science outreach and the manufacturing of the future of 3D-printing technology, as well as support community building,” she added.
