Nigeria has again in far away America recorded another feat where a Nigerian born pilot, Ademilola Odujinrin has become the first African to perform a solo flight around the world.

The take –off event was flagged off by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja l.

The much anticipated Transcend Project, One Man. One Plane. One World, kicked off on Sunday was performed by Odujinrin who incubated the incredible dream to be the first African to fly solo round the world on a single engine aircraft.

The ground breaking was attended by members of the Nigeria media in the US, Nigerians from all parts of the United States and many other well-wishers.

The Transcend Project Director, Mr Ladi Ani-Mumuney thanked the people of Nigeria both at home and in the diaspora saying “We have been encouraged and motivated by the goodwill messages from Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.”

He expressed how proud he was that the flight was finally taking off and how exciting it is that the first African to achieve this challenges which had only been achieved by only 114 people in the world will be achieved by Nigeria.

“This will surely change the Nigerian perception. It is time for the world to realise that there is more to Africa and in particular Nigerians than “stomach politics’ “We hope this project will inspire generations of young to follow their dreams like Lola and never give up irrespective of the many hurdles they might meet along the way,” Ani-mumuney added.
