This was disclosed by the Chairman and President of the Artkingdom, a non-government organisation, Chief Alex Akinleye and Prince Yomi Otukoya, respectively in a release which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune.
Speaking on the event tagged: “World Arts, Culture and Tourism (Wact) Conference, Ile-Ife 2018,” Otukoya said it was initiated by the Artkingdom International Foundation, the Maakbeat Transnational Limited and Communicator, in collaboration with the National Council of Arts and Culture, the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, the Federal Ministy of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Court of Ife and the Royal Palace of Alaafin of Oyo.
They said: “It is imperative to award the title of Asiwaju Omo Oodua just as the title of Aare Ona-Kakanfo had recently been awarded.”
He said that about six eminent personalities had been shortlisted, adding that the organisers of the programme had also received the royal endorsement of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
The event is scheduled to hold in Ile-Ife, Osun State, in March 2018 while Oba Ogunwusi will be the chief host.
