Ooni, Alake, Eze Ndigbo endorse Nigeria Carnival USA

As the preparation for the second edition of the Nigeria Carnival in USA, slated for 25th to 31st July 2017, in Maryland, United States of America, reaches a crescendo, the event has continued to receive a boost from traditional rulers across the country

The Ooni of Ife, His majesty, Oba Eniitan Ogunwusi, the Ojaja 11 is the latest among those that endorsed the carnival. The endorsement came, following a visit to the palace by members of the carnival team recently.

According to the Kabiyesi, “the promotion of Nigerian arts, tradition and culture is very paramount to me and I appreciate and support every effort to keep our culture growing”.

In his remarks, the Chairman, TKY Global, the organizer of the event, Mr. Thomas Akinkuebi, who is based in the United States of America, “the preservation of our culture is very important to us, this prompted our venturing into the carnival which we have not regretted so far. It is in our best interests to acquaint Nigerians with the contents and modalities of this intent tailored event aimed at promoting our rich heritage. Nigeria Carnival in USA is an effective cultural diplomatic tool in which content, design and programmes parade dynamic and unique elements to inform, inspire, integrate, educate and empower and equally fashioned to facilitate relationship building and unification of cultures for Nigerians in the Diaspora”.

Also, the Alake of Egba land and Eze Ndigbo of Lagos have thrown their weight behind the event with promises to involve their indigenes in the diaspora about the event and bring them to the venue in July this year

It would be recalled that the exhibition for the carnival was held some weeks ago in Lagos and witnessed by entrepreneurs, investors, cultural and traditional performances, food and drinks, arts and craft all displayed at the event, while members of the diplomatic corps from various embassies were also in attendance .
