Music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, on behalf of all musicians in Nigeria, has paid tribute to the late iconic singer, Ms Onyeka Onwenu.
Obey during his performance at the University of Ibadan, on Wednesday, made a spontaneous tribute in honour of the deceased.
Obey, who described the deceased as a legend and an elegant personality, noted that Onwenu made a great impact on the growth of the music industry, copyright protection and the development of the nation through her talent, stressing that she would be greatly missed.
“All humans will take a bow one day to meet with our Creator. Onyeka Onwenu, as soldier on duty, you finished well. Good night,” Obey said.

Obey, who was thrilling guest at the Anniversary Gala and Home Coming event of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, became emotional towards the end of his performance, just as he changed the tune of music into a tribute in honour of Onwenu.
