One person has been confirmed dead while properties worth millions of Naira including houses have been destroyed by flood that ravaged some communities in Bauchi State following a torrential rainfall that lasted several hours on Monday to early Tuesday morning.
The communities worst affected are Dindima village and Liman Katagum all in Bauchi Local Government Area which were submerged by the flood as a result of the heavy downpour in the area.
The State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammad Abdulkadir, who was at the scenes of the natural disaster in order to access the level of damages to the communities promised that the state government will do everything humanly possible to bring succour to the victims affected by the floods.

The Governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleman, accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Muhammed Sabiu Baba and Chief of Staff (CoS) Government House, Abubakar Kari, commiserated with the victims calling on them to accept it as the will of God.
The Governor then directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to expedite action in ensuring the welfare of the victims by providing relief materials to them immediately just as he appealed to well to do individuals in the state to also come to the aid of the victims.
While at Dindima, the Village Head, Malam Sale Ubandoma said that over 100 houses were affected while farmlands were destroyed just as one death was recorded as a result of the flooding.
Sale Ubandoma thanked the state government for the prompt action in identifying with their plight.
The delegation was also at Liman Katagum where a bridge linking over twenty communities was cut off
and the Governor promised that the bridge will be fixed soonest so that the communities will continue with their daily activities.
