Reports have it that the suspected rival cultists trailed the deceased to a joint known as E4 Resort along Bauchi to Dass road and allegedly stabbed him with a knife on the chest severally thereby inflicting serious injuries on him following what was said to be a disagreement between them.
It was further gathered from a reliable source that the deceased was killed over a disagreement which broke out during a party organised by some youths in the area last weekend.
While filing this report, it was reliably gathered that the aggrieved rival cult group which the deceased belonged to, disrupted the burial of the deceased at the Yelwa cemetery demanding for retaliation or there will be no peace in the area.
The group members who attended the burial were aggrieved over the death of their colleague and insisted that the killer of the deceased must be fished out before the burial could take place, a development that made the area to become charged with people running for their lives.
However, it took the prompt intervention of armed security agents who were deployed to the area to restore normalcy and allowed the burial to proceed at the Christian cemetery as planned by the relations of the deceased.
While confirming the incident, the Bauchi State Police Command Public Relation Officer, (PPRO), DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar said that one person was killed in a cult rivalry clash along Bauchi Dass road in the state last weekend.
The Police Spokesman added that the deceased had fatal injuries as a result of the knife that was used in stabbing him, adding that he was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, (ATBUTH) Bauchi, where he was certified dead.
Datti Abubakar, however, said that full-scale investigations into the case was ongoing and efforts were on top gear to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act after which whoever was found culpable will be charged to court in accordance with relevant laws of the land.
He further stated that, “With regards to the incident of culpable homicide that occurred on Saturday 09/09/18, where one Dindara Yusuf ‘m’ 18yrs was stabbed with knife on the chest leading to his death along Dass road opposite E-4 Resort Event Center and unrest that emanated today (11/09/2018) during the deceased burial in Yelwa area of the metropolis which was caused by some irate youth.
