First Information Report (FRI) from Ningi Station office of Bauchi State Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that one person was killed in a ghastly accident.
The FIR released by the Sector Command Headquarters contained that the accident occurred on Monday, 21st March, 2022 in Ningi at about 1320 Hrs but was reported at 1330hrs while operatives of the FRSC arrived at the scene at 1340hrs taking them 10mins.
The accident occurred at a location on the ever busy Bauchi-Kano highway at Kwana Balma in Ningi LGA involving a Mercedes Parkas truck belonging to the fleet of Jigawa Sunrise which is used for commercial purposes.
According to the report, the accident involved 86 people all males out of which one person was killed while 38 others were injured at various degrees.
The probable cause of the accident was dangerous driving (DGD) which resulted into lost of control (LOC)
The Victims and the Corpse were taken to Ningi General Hospital for treatment and confirmation of death as reported by ARC AA Umar of FRSC Station, NINGI LGA.
Information had it the truck conveyed the people from Ningi where they had gone for a political rally and were returning to their village when the accident occurred.
A relation of one of the victims told our correspondent that some of the injured lost some parts of their bodies and were referred to the Trauma Center of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi for further medical attention.
