One injured as robbers invade Oyo radio station

A daring robbery occurred at a radio station in Ogbomoso, Oyo, leaving one person injured and causing significant financial loss.

The armed robbers invaded the station identified as Ajilete 92.1 FM in the early hours of Friday, making off with equipment worth millions of naira.

The robbers targeted the station’s power generator house, cutting off armored cables and ransacking the transmitter house.

They also stole a motorcycle belonging to the security guard, who was beaten and injured during the incident.

The 70-year-old guard is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

The Acting Head of Channel, Kemi Ojelade confirmed the incident to newsmen on Saturday.

Ojelade said that the BCOS management had visited the station to assess the level of damage.

“Yes it is true. It happened on Friday. The BCOS management led by the General Manager, Mr. Goke Adelakun visited us for an on the spot assessment.

“The incident has been reported to the police. The Area commander, Owode police headquarters, ACP Adigun Gbolagade has also visited the station,” he told Daily Post.
