One person has been confirmed dead after a Cybertruck caught fire in the valet area of the Trump International Hotel, in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out around 8:40 a.m. near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sammy Davis Jr. Drive.
As a result of the ongoing police activity, Fashion Show Drive has been closed between Las Vegas Boulevard and Sammy Davis Jr. Drive.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, viewer video obtained by Arizona’s Local news station suggests that fireworks may have been inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Guests at the hotel, as well as those in nearby hotels, reported hearing a loud explosion, which they said was significantly louder than the fireworks from the previous night.
Many guests staying at the hotel were initially not allowed to leave the lobby, but they have since been moved outside for safety.
Governor Joe Lombardo of Nevada has stated on X that he is working to provide the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) with any resources needed in its response to the incident.
