Meanwhile, Tribune Online reports that Ajayi, who spoke with newsmen shortly after voting at about 10:40 am in his polling unit, said the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu has failed the people of the state and should resign from office.

He accused the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies of compromising the election in favour of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Agboola said that the preliminary report from across the 18 local government areas has shown that the election so far was far below the standard, asking the INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu to resign for conducting the most corrupt election in Nigeria’s political history.

He described the exercise as not only a sham but also a synchronized attempt to murder the democratic process, alleging that the stronghold of  PDP chieftains was militarised to intimidate the voters from exercising their franchise.
