The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to commence the collation of results for the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
Tribune Online reports that voters across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State turned out en masse on Saturday to elect a new governor to steer the affairs of the state for the next four years.
The election, one of the off-cycle elections in 2024, is set to determine the fate of the current state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and 15 other candidates.
The electoral body is now fully prepared to begin the collation of the highly anticipated election results in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
As of the time of this report, INEC has uploaded over 98 per cent of the results from the Ondo gubernatorial election on its Result Viewing (IReV) Portal.
This figure represents results from 3,874 polling units out of 3,933 units across the state.
