Ondo traditional ruler dies at 102

The Owa of Idanre kingdom in Ondo State, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Frederick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, has passed away.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday morning by High Chief Christopher Oluwole Akindolire, the Lisa (traditional Prime Minister) of Idanre kingdom.

Chief Akindolire announced that preparations for the necessary traditional rites are already underway at the king’s palace.

Oba Aroloye, who had been a revered figure in Idanre, ascended the throne in 1976 and lived to the age of 102.
