Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has endorsed Ifeoluwa Ehindero, the House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko North East/North West federal constituency ahead of Saturday’s bye-election scheduled to hold in the federal constituency.
Aiyedatiwa had on Thursday presented the party’s flag to Ehindero and solicited the support of all the people of the federal constituency.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed tomorrow for the election following the resignation of Mr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, after his appointment as the Minister of Interior by President Bola Tinubu.
The governor contended that the APC candidate has the capacity to deliver and assured the residents of continuity in the infrastructure renewal master-plan, which the former member of the House of Representatives in the constituency had embarked upon.
Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed that the APC in Ondo State is one united family, noting that the party is well positioned to win the next governorship poll.
Ehindero, who appreciated the governor’s endorsement, said he is committed to building on the unparalleled developmental strides of Tunji-Ojo who represented the constituency till his appointment as a minister, assuring that he will achieve his lofty dreams for the constituency through inclusive governance, if elected in the Saturday’s poll.
He stated: “With my wealth of experience in the private sector and the opportunity I had in learning from Honourable Olubunmi Ojo, I believe I am well equipped to steer the ship of the federal constituency in the desired direction,” he said.
Also Present at event were the newly sworn-in deputy governor of the state, Olayide Adelami; Honourable Olusola Oke; the state APC chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin; Honourable Gbenga Ale, the former Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mayowa Akinfolarin, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, Adu Cubana, Babatunde Kolawole, Olamide Falana, Olabimtan, Tolu Babaleye, Thalis Apalowo, among other top APC stalwarts.
