The national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae, on Tuesday, assured the people of Ondo State that priority will be given to the payment of workers’ salary if the candidate of the party is elected in the forthcoming governorship election
Falae, who said this during the presentation of flag to the party’s standard bearer, Dr .Olu Agunloye and his running mate, Erelu Modupe Akindele-Martins, in Akure, the state capital, said that the party would provide job for 100, 000 youths, within its first year in office.
Falae decried the non- payment of salary to workers and pensioners in the state, adding that the party had mapped out a state’s apprenticeship scheme that would empower and ensure that youths are gainfully employed within first year of the SDP-led administration
Speaking during the rally, Agunloye assured the people that his administration would bridge the gap between the rich and the poor by building on the sustainable projects of his predecessors in office.
“I will only review and rectify past policies that are not beneficial to the people. I will continue with the beneficial projects and build on them with my goodwill, integrity and love for the people.”
He said all outstanding salaries and pension allowances of public servants and retirees would be paid.
Agunloye, who said his mission is “to rescue and rebuild Ondo State”, was driven towards creating enabling environment for youths as job providers rather than job seekers, infrastructural development, meaningful engagement of women, among others.
