Ondo Police rescue kidnapped victim

THE Police in Ondo State on Tuesday said it has rescued a kidnap victim, Moyo Osoori, who was abducted in a hotel last Saturday at Supare Akoko in Akoko Southwest local government area of the state.

The state command Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who disclosed this to journalist said police operatives from the state swung into action immediately the case was reported and the victim regained his freedom after about two days in the captive of his abductors

Joseph explained that police from the command stormed the suspected kidnapper’s den at Oba Akoko/ Ajegunle where the victim was kept.

He said the victim, Osoori regained his freedom unhurt and without paying any ransom but said the four hoodlums who perpetrated the abduction would be apprehended soon by the police from the command

He, however, disclosed that no arrest was made but said detectives from the command have been on the trail of the hoodlums, assuring that they would be brought to book soon.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday evening kidnapped two people in the Supare Akoko after a funeral ceremony in a hotel.

One of the victims who was said to be the Director of the hotel regained his freedom the following day but the police image maker said the hotel director has been helping with information about the kidnappers.

The police spokesperson expressed optimism that the hoodlums would be brought to book, while he expressed the command appreciation for the information that led to the victim’s rescue.

He called on members of the public to always assist the security operatives in the state with information that could lead to the arrest of undesirable elements in the state.
