Speaking on the arrest of the suspect, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Femi Joseph, said one Adeniyi Adeola,
reported at the station that his Almera Nissan car was stolen where it was parked at his house at Anuoluwa Faith High School, Akure.
Joseph said his men swung into action and subsequently tracked the suspect with a phone in the car which led to arrest of Fabode who hailed from Ogun State.
He said the arrest led to the discovery of five other Nissan vehicles in the custody of the suspect who had changed the registration number of the cars while he has also changed the colour of the vehicles to Oyo and Ogun states Taxi colours
He listed the number of the Nissan vehicles to include Nissan Almera with registration number ABG 577 XA, Nissan Sunny with registration Number AKM 694 ZW, Nissan Almera with registration Number GNN 368 AA, Nissan Sunny with registration number AKR 153 YZ, Nissan Sunny with Registration Number AAB 812 and Golf III car with registration number KJA 805 AR.
The suspect, Fabode who confessed to the crime said that he usually remove the vehicles where they were parked before changing their colour and registration number.
Similarly, two suspected armed robbers, Tijani Idowu and Imoleayo Micheal, who invaded a building and carted away some valuables were arrested by detectives in Owo.
Joseph said one Adetula Odunayo was robbed of his valuable items worth N182,000:00, and when detectives swung into action, the two suspects were arrested in connection with the crime.
He said one single barrel, Nokia phone, Itel phone, Infinix Note 5, Radio Bluetooth and one matchet were recovered from the two suspects
He said Idowu a member of Ave confraternity was arrested and confirmed to be among the robbers who took part in the robbery
“In the course of the investigation, one Imoleayo Michael was also apprehended with a locally short barrel in his house Joseph said.
