The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Ondo State Command, says it has commenced psychological and behavioural test on its personnel to enhance effective service delivery.
Mrs Christiana Abiakam-Omanu, the NSCDC Commandant in the state, made the disclosure while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Akure at the commencement of the exercise.
According to her, the test will be conducted on all officers and men of the corps by experts from the Behavioural Forensic Unit of the corps.
Abiakam-Omanu, who explained that the exercise would be conducted between Tuesday and Wednesday, said it was to enhance the psychological stabilisation of members which may arise from poor management of stress.

According to the commandant, the exercise is in compliance with the directive of the NSCDC Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana, who directed the Psychology Forensic Unit of the corps to carry out the routine exercise.
“The exercise is to closely mark the personnel and ensure that they are psychologically balanced for effective service delivery.
“The Corps, though the youngest of the paramilitary agencies of government, is ready to stand out in its mode of operations and interactions with the civil populace.
“The result is going to serve as a basis for deploying the right crop of officers who are in their right frame of mind to critical national assignments,” she said.
The commandant stressed that the exercise was not for ranking or downsizing of corps personnel as being insinuated in some quarters.
“The exercise is to enable the corps to ascertain the frame of mind of members from time to time and support or assist where necessary to ensure the overall well-being of corps personnel,” she said.
