Ondo indigenes in US disown group behind Makinde’s social media attacks

Indigenes of Ondo town, Maryland, United States of America, have dissociated themselves from the purported social media campaigns against the member representing Ondo East/West federal constituency in the green chamber of the National Assembly, Honourable Abiola Makinde.

The group, under the aegis of Ekimogun Association DMV, Maryland, United State of America, in a statement jointly signed by Mr Tony lluyomade, Rotimi Akinkugbe and Tommy Akinbinu, President, Vice-president and the Public Relations Officer respectively, and made available to journalists on Saturday, described Ekimogun Roundtable, which for quite sometime has embarked on series of social media and conventional media campaign against Honourable Abiola Makinde as a group embedded with mischief makers whose intent is to portray Honourable Makinde, in a bad light to satisfy their selfish interest.

The Ekimogun Association, Maryland, equally aligned itself to what it called various developmental projects embarked upon by Honourable Biola Makinde across Ondo East/West federal constituency which according to them have direct impacts in the lives of the constituents.

The statement read in parts: “We are aware of numerous social media campaigns of calumny, defamatory statements, slander by a group of mischief makers led by one Funmi Akinyosoye disguised as Omotayo Akinkugbe, against Hon. Abiola Makinde.

“This individual has been using the DMV Ekimogun Association logo without our permission or endorsement for unauthorised purposes. We do not have any Omotayo Akinkugbe in our association whatsoever and Funmi Akinyosoye has been expelled from Association of Ondo Ekimogun, DMV two years ago.

“We hereby dissociate ourselves from this person’s actions and statements. He does not represent the Ekimogun Association DMV, Maryland, USA or its values. His views are his own and should be disregarded.

“Please be aware that this individual is acting alone and does not have any affiliation with our association. We urged all Ondo State indigenes home and abroad to disregard his malicious posts and not engage with him.
