Ondo guber race between my party and APC – LP’s Ebiseni

Published by

The Ondo governorship election, scheduled for tomorrow, November 16, 2024, is shaping up to be a thrilling contest, with Labour Party candidate Olusola Ebiseni expressing confidence in his chances of emerging victorious.

Ebiseni, in an interview with Channels TV, believes the real competition is between his party and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a non-contender.

“This election is going to be about two political parties and their administration.

“There is no PDP in this election. This election is between the Labour Party and the APC. Agboola Ajayi of the PDP was Akeredolu’s first-time deputy governor. Aiyedatiwas of the APC was Akeredolu’s second-term deputy governor, now the incumbent governor.

“If you want to assess their credibility and performance, you will assess them; you will assess the Akeredolu government and the roles they played,” he said.

However, Ebiseni’s candidacy is not without controversy. The Labour Party has rejected a court judgment recognising him as their candidate, describing it as “a joke taken too far”.

Despite this, Ebiseni remains optimistic, citing his experience as a former local government chairman and commissioner under the Mimiko administration as preparation for the governorship role.

As the election draws near, tensions are running high. The PDP, which Ebiseni initially sought to represent before switching to the Labour Party, has its own candidate, Agboola Ajayi. Ebiseni’s past affiliation with the PDP and his subsequent switch have raised eyebrows, with some questioning his credibility.
