Ondo guber: PDP laments denial of campaign venue access

The Ondo state Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lamented over the denial of access to the use of Democracy Park for the flag-off of its governorship campaign by the state government.

The PDP Campaign Organisation disclosed this on Saturday accused the state government of intolerance with other political oppositions ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Speaking on the development, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to PDP campaign organization, Mr Ayo Fadaka who made this claim on Saturday, explained that the campaign organization has applied for the use of the venue for the event slated for October 15.

He however, said Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration has decided to deny the PDP the use of the Park, nothing that this is the first time that any administration would prosecute such a cheap and petty goal.

According to Fadaka, “to say we did not anticipate this pedestrian action will only indicate that we have not taken deep cognizance of the indecorous approach of Governor Aiyedatiwa to governance.

“We recall that in years late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was in power, not once was any political party denied use of public space, that was a statesman, now Ondo State is unlucky to have a worse variant in its saddle, this degeneracy must be taken care of.

“We, however, declare that we are going to hold our Campaign Flagoff in Akure, as people from across the State and nation will grace the event.

“We regret whatever inconvenience our gathering may have and apologize in advance, however please note that the irresponsibility of the pedestrian government is the cause.

“We, however, wish to pointedly underscore the fact that once a fire is set, there is no hiding the flames.

“The PDP is set for this election, and we will win; no cheap, petty, and pedestrian attitude will stop that.”
