Ondo guber: APC will win big — Party chairman

The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin has expressed optimism that the party would “win big” in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.

Adetimehin who stated this while receiving  representatives of the British Deputy High Commission office, from Lagos at the APC Secretariat in Akure, said APC has performed excellently state, making the party formidable and a party to beat.

He attributed the defection from other political parties to the achievements recorded by the APC in the state and the existing peace in the party.

According to him, the party had employed internal provisions to resolve crisis that trailed it’s governorship primary in April, saying the party has remained strong after the primary.

“We have carried out extensive reconciliations, using party internal mechanisms.

Today, all the governorship aspirants have set aside their differences, and we are all working for the flag bearer, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa”, Adetimehin said

He informed that several members of other political parties have indicated interest in joining the organised political party.

He described the APC as a darling party of the state, adding that the people of Ondo State have always embraced progressive party.

Adetimehin commended the roles of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agents in promoting rancour free elections in the Sunshine State.

Earlier, a Senior Political Adviser at the Commission, Mr. Wale Adebanjo, said they were in the state to engage key political stakeholders, ahead of the November election.

Adebanjo explained that the team who include the Southern Nigeria Post Security Manager, Mr. Shawn Anwoju, had listens to concerns of political parties, explore ways to address them in the best interest of states and the entire political system.

The APC Deputy State chairman, Hon. Agabra Atili, led other members of the highest decision making organ of the party in the state to the meeting.
