A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State and the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Oluwatobi Ajewole Foundation, Tobi Ajewole, has called on the people of the state to join hands together in ensuring that Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the state governor, wins the forthcoming governorship election
Ajewole, while speaking at a press conference in Akure, the state capital, on Friday, said the state has experienced transformational leadership under the governor and deserves to be reelected.
According to him, Aiyedatiwa has been able to improve infrastructural development in the state within the last 10 months, saying the governor has brought renewed vigour into governance.
“The last ten months of Governor Aiyedatiwa have witnessed an unprecedented commitment of his administration to the implementation of the new Ondo state. Not only has this made us proud as a people, but it has also reinforced our confidence in the leadership of the governor.
“We are proud that the APC produced such a credible and committed candidate in the person of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and he has, in every sense of sincerity, justified the confidence reposed in him by the party.”
Ajewole, who maintained that Aiyedatiwa deserves reelection to continue to steer the wheel of development in the state, said, “In light of this, I shall proceed to highlight His Excellency, the Governor of Ondo State, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa’s reelection as governor.
“As a young man who believes in the future of our state, I have witnessed the impactful leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over the past 10 months. His work has not only been steady; it has been transformative, addressing the needs of our communities with foresight and purpose.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has faced many challenges that may have affected good governance being enjoyed by the good people of Ondo state today but as difficult as they were, he did not only remain resolute; he has turned them into triumphs that have moved our state forward
“It is for this reason and on this note that I am advocating for his second-term bid and re-election.
“Therefore, I call on every meaningful and progressive indigene and resident of Ondo, friends, families, and associates at home and abroad, to support continuity by voting for Aiyedatiwa in the coming general election. I hereby publicly declare my unwavering support for the re-election of Governor Aiyedatiwa.
He stated further, “We also appreciate and ask the leadership of the APC to return Aiyedatiwa, unconditionally, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2024 governorship election in our state
“We want to say loud and clear, that after considering so many things, we have seen Aiyedatiwa as the best option to continue as the governor of our dear state. Consequently, we call on all well-meaning citizens of Sunshine State to join hands with us.
“I am confident that he will open new doors of opportunity for all of us, especially for the youth, who are the backbone of Ondo’s future.
“So, let us march forward together Let us embrace the vision that Govemor Aiyodatiwa has set for us, and let us secure this continuity for the brighter, more prosperous Onde State that we all deserve.
While appreciating him for mobilising support for Aiyedatiwa, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Ade Adetimehin, expressed optimism that APC will win the next Saturday governorship election.
He said the party had harvested all the string political leaders from the opposition parties into its fold, saying the opposition is dead in the state.
Adetimehin, however, appealed to Ajewole to continue mobilising support for Aiyedatiwa to ensure victory in the election, urging the youths in the state to move from towns and villages to canvass vote for APC and its candidate, Aiyedatiwa.
