A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Oluwatobi Aruwajoye, has lauded the state government for its recent financial commitments to the people of Ondo through the disbursement of N335 million as bursaries to students across the state and approval of the new minimum wage of N70,000 for workers.
Aruwajoye, who hails from Owo Local Government, expressed his appreciation in Akure, the state capital, on Wednesday, describing the approval of the new minimum wage as a “well-deserved victory” for the diligent workforce of Ondo State, while acknowledging their patience and perseverance.
“I am elated that the Ondo State government has approved a N70,000 minimum wage for workers. This is a well-deserved victory for the hardworking people of Ondo State, who have long awaited this enhancement to their welfare,” Aruwajoye stated.
He also commended the government’s decision to disburse N335 million in bursaries, highlighting it as a testament to the government’s commitment to the welfare and education of its citizens. “The disbursement of bursaries to students underscores the government’s dedication to investing in the future of our youth and the state at large,” he added.
Aruwajoye urged the government to maintain its focus on these critical areas and to ensure the effective implementation of the new minimum wage.
He also called for the consistent and transparent disbursement of bursaries to deserving students, emphasizing the importance of sustained support for education and worker welfare as cornerstones of the state’s development.
He concluded by encouraging the government to continue prioritizing the welfare and education of its citizens, recognizing these efforts as essential drivers of growth and progress for Ondo State.
