Ondo APC chieftain commends Aiyedatiwa over youth-centric engagement

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ondo State and renowned public health professional and humanitarian advocate, Dr. Michael Akintomide Ajilo, has lauded Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his strategic engagement with youth stakeholders in the state’s development agenda.

Reacting to Tuesday’s interactive session held at the International Centre for Culture and Events (The Dome), Akure, Dr. Ajilo described the governor’s initiative as “a brilliant step in the right direction” and a testament to his commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable progress.

He said, “Governor Aiyedatiwa’s dedication to creating opportunities for youth employment, empowerment, and participation in the governance of Ondo State is commendable and visionary.

This administration has demonstrated that the voices of young people matter and that they are vital partners in the transformation of our state.”

Dr. Ajilo, an Ondo-born medical expert of international repute and founder of the MADE Foundation, highlighted the administration’s achievements in the education sector—particularly the recruitment of over 2,000 teachers, renovation of learning facilities, provision of scholarships and bursaries, and sponsorship of Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) fees for students.

He further emphasised the governor’s efforts to bolster entrepreneurship and business development among the youth, citing initiatives that offer funding, mentorship, and technical support for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Beyond youth-focused programs, Dr. Ajilo praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s broader developmental strides across key sectors including road infrastructure, rural and urban development, healthcare, and technological innovation. He noted that the simultaneous rollout of projects in all 18 local government areas reflects the administration’s commitment to equitable progress and aligns with the governor’s OUR-EASE agenda for Ondo State.

“The governor’s initiatives are not only laudable; they are transformative. His inclusive approach to governance, particularly his focus on empowering the next generation, sets a high standard in leadership,” Dr. Ajilo concluded.
