Ondo APC chieftain celebrates Uzodinma, Ododo victories

Published by
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Prince Diran Iyantan, has congratulated the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, and the candidate of the APC in Kogi State, Usman Ododo, over their victories at Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Iyantan, a governorship aspirant, explained that the results, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reflected the wishes of the people and a direct vote of confidence in the APC administration in the respective states.

The immediate past federal commissioner at the National Population Commission, in a statement on Monday, commended the electoral umpire, voters, and other stakeholders for the success of the election.

He expressed optimism that the process would further deepen the nation’s democratic principle, where citizens would choose their leaders in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity devoid of violence.

He added that the election’s outcomes were a vote of confidence in the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the preferred choice of the electorate, calling on the candidates to support the president to achieve its renewed hope agenda for the country.

Iyantan urged Uzodimma to see his re-election as a motivation to serve the Imo people better and scale up the gears of good governance and quality leadership to consolidate the good works recorded in his first term, while also saying that Ododo should consolidate on the remarkable achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.

The APC chieftain advised the two winners to extend a hand of fellowship to other candidates who contested with them for the governorship seat, with a view to getting them to contribute to the development of the states.
