Ondo 2024: Why I rejoined APC — Tola Awosika

A former Senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tola Awosika, has rejoined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, with hundreds of his supporters.

Awosika, who justified his decision to return to APC on the need to contribute meaningfully to development of the state and country, said this is the time to join hands to build the state.

According to him, the primary goal of every politician is to protect the interest and welfare of his constituency, saying “we all agreed to return to the mainstream and contribute to the development of the party and the state”

He said his decision to return to the party was reached after careful consideration and in alignment with the aspirations of the people of Ondo State.

Awosika promised to use his experience and a deep understanding of the issues affecting the state to bear, describing his return to the APC as a significant boost to the party.

He said his passion for development, commitment to good governance, and dedication to the welfare of the people make him an invaluable addition to the party.

The spokesperson to Awosika, Prince Segun Adesemoye, said Awosika has demonstrated his ability to bridge gaps and foster unity among diverse groups.

“His leadership qualities and inclusive approach have earned him the respect and admiration of Ondo residents, across party lines.

“His return to the APC is a testament to his unwavering belief in the party’s vision for sustainable growth and progress.

“His extensive network and strong grassroots support will undoubtedly strengthen the APC’s position in Ondo State, securing a brighter future for its residents.

“As we march towards the 2024 elections, the APC is committed to conducting a fair and transparent primary process.

“My decision to rejoin the party further solidifies the APC’s commitment to inclusivity and the genuine representation of the people’s will.”

Welcoming Awosika and his teeming supporters back into APC, the Chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin, hailed Awosika’s decision to rejoin the party.

Adetimehin expressed optimism that Awosika and his supporters will contribute towards the development of the state, saying “together, we will build a prosperous and united Ondo, where every resident can thrive.

“The return of Awosika is a dream come true, because he possesses a high level of intellect and capacity that the APC would benefit from. We are welcoming him to our party.

“He is an asset to APC, not only in the state but at the National level. We welcome you and teeming supporters and group and I want to assure you that you will be accommodated,” Adetimehin said.
