Ondo 2024: Students pledge support for Aiyedatiwa

Published by

Students of Ondo State origin have pledged their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the forthcoming governorship election, assuring that they would mobilize for the governor, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The students spoke through the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Honourable Kelvin Olaolu Solomon.

Honourable Solomon, who assured Aiyedatiwa of the support of all the students in the state, said the governor has performed well to the satisfaction of students during his short period in office.

He said the governor deserves a fresh term, having performed well after succeeding his predecessor, the late Rotimi Akeredolu.

Solomon, who said the students have resolved to support the governor, added that as a loyal party man, he stands firmly with the APC and its candidate in the November governorship election.

His words: “Governor Aiyedatiwa’s achievements in the critical sectors of the state’s economy are endearing, and we are convinced that they need to be sustained.

“His performances have endeared him to major stakeholders in the state, and the endorsement by traditional rulers across the state indicates that those who matter are solidly behind him.

“The Obas say he deserves another term because, under him, the state’s economic potential has greatly improved.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s impact can also be felt in the areas of infrastructure, rural development, commerce, agriculture, education, and youth development, among others.

“He has met with the student union leaders and listened to their plights. Works are currently ongoing on their demands, and he has directed us to continually engage the student community to enhance their welfare and academic support. Besides, he has started the recruitment of 2,000 workers in the academic sector and has recruited people at the Ondo State Revenue Service.

“The most important thing is that he did not stop the legacy started by the late governor. He directed all the contractors to return to their sites.

“He merits support because of the stability within the political system and the peace and tranquility that have enveloped the state since his emergence after the death of the former governor. He has continued to give all stakeholders the needed support.

“He is indeed the best man for the job, and that’s why we are supporting him.”
