A coalition group called Omoluabi Coalition Group (OCG) has rallied round all the 18 local government areas of Ondo to seek support, as a leading candidate in the November 2024 Ondo gubernatorial election Chief Olusola Alexander Oke (SAN) picked his Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat.

The representative of Chief Oke and prominent political leader, Prince Idowu Ilara, said the Barr Oke has remained an illustrious son of the state who has made an indelible mark in the lives of many indigenes of the state.

He posited that as the candidate, he is poised to meet the yearnings of the people of the state if given the mandate.

Speaking on behalf of a powerful delegation of Obas, HRH. Oba Musbau Omoluabi, Oba Leto Of Abuja was full of praise for the learned silk.

He assured the candidate of their support and prayers.

Also, HRH. Oba Musbau Adekale Olaremaju, Oba Yoruba of Mpape, urged party delegates and the electorates to vote in Barr Olushola Oke given his antecedents for the overall good of the state.

Meanwhile, the group has declared that Olusola Oke is the best Candidate the progressive Congress should pick in the coming Primary election come 20th April, 24.

The group Director General Tunji Balogun made this known during a press conference in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

He said the group is peaching their tent to Oke because all aspirants in the APC have been examined and Oke supersedes them in experience as a grassroots politician.

He further said the party should not pick someone on sympathy, or someone who had issues with his certificate.

Balogun pointed out that the opposition party is waiting for the ruling party to choose wrongly as they would leverage on loopholes from the ruling party.

“This is a discussion basically on the governorship election coming up, all political parties are preparing for the primary, we believe as Omoluabi that we are, we are progressive, we believe in continuation of APC Governance, we believe in someone that would continue with the Programmes of Akeredolu.

“The party must be very careful in the selection, this is not the time to bring someone to come and learn, this is the time to bring in competency, someone who is dedicated to the party, the party must not fail.”

Balogun begged that the All progressive Congress leadership should give the people of Ondo State someone who is void of scandal.

“We are calling on the leadership of the All Progressive Congress in Abuja and in the state to be wise in picking the Governorship aspirant.

“The party must not bring in someone who has a political scandal on a certificate or whatsoever”.

The group said they have done their investigation and Oke is the most competent.

“Although we are not the ones to vote but we are concerned, having examined all these aspirants with proper investigation and their antecedents, we have concluded that the most qualified person is Chief Olusola Oke/

“He is a tested and trusted person, a grassroots politician, he has led many political positions, he is not a tutelage in leadership if Oke is given the ticket it would be a win-win for the political party and the people,” the group added.
