Ondo 2024: APC to inaugurate screening Committee, Friday

Ahead of the April 20 conduct of the governorship primary by the All Progressives Congress, the party will on Friday inaugurate the Screening Committee and the Screening Appeal Committee.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that former Gombe Deputy Governor Senator Joshua Lidani will chair the Screening Committee while Honourable Bimbo Daramola will serve as Secretary.

For the Screening Appeal team, Senator Oseni Yakubu will serve as Chairman and Honourable Abu Bakar Nuhu Danburam will serve as Secretary.

Checks also revealed that the Vetting Committee chaired by APC National Legal Adviser, Professor Abdul Karim Kana, has cleared all the 16 aspirants.

It dismissed the allegation of certificate forgery against the incumbent governor and aspirant, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Committee reports reads in part.

“The Vetting Committee is confident that the vetting process has been conducted with integrity and transparency.

“The committee’s recommendations are aimed at ensuring that only qualified and credible aspirants are presented for the party primaries, in line with the party’s commitment to internal democracy and good governance.”
