National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, Engineer Yabagi Sani has urged the electorate in Ondo State to look in the direction of his party for a vibrant, energetic young man as replacement for the incumbent Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed next November for the governorship election.
Presenting Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to a 39-year-old Honourable Ayodeji Emmanuel Akinnodi, who has joined the race, the ADP chairman declared that Nigerians should learn from recent election in Senegal where a 44-year-old Bassirou Diomaye Faye was elected as the 5th President.
He said: “We believe that empowering young individuals to assume leadership roles is a crucial step towards resolving our current challenges. They bring energy and fresh perspectives that can transform governance.
“The nation is eager to break free from the status quo of inertia. What Nigeria needs now is effective leadership that can propel us forward.
“President Faye represents the potential for social transformation, economic development, and a peaceful and prosperous Senegal. He has become a symbol of democracy, not only for his nation but for all who cherish democratic values worldwide.
“As Africa’s youngest president, President Faye has the responsibility to set a new standard for governance and to inspire young leaders across the continent, including our own gubernatorial aspirant.
“We urge the people of Ondo State to support our candidate, who is young, dynamic, and committed to transforming the fortunes of the Sunshine State.
“Introducing Hon Ayodeji Emmanuel Akinnodi, a man who has shown unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in Ondo.
“Hon Akinnodi is a successful businessman whose achievements speak volumes about his capability to lead and innovate. He is a son of Ondo, poised to fulfill the aspirations of its people.
“With a passion for the development of Ondo, we are confident that he will deliver on his promise to bring more brightness to the Sunshine State and glory to its citizens.”
