Traditional rulers in Ondo State, under the auspices of 130 Crown Obas, congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his triumph in the recently conducted All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election on Thursday.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President of the group, Oba Samuel Adeoye Edoema, which described the emergence of Aiyedatiwa as the candidate of the APC as a divine agenda.
Oba Adeoye urged all the residents and community leaders in the state to support the governor in achieving his lofty ideas of turning the state around positively, especially in the area of the economy.
According to him, the state will continue to witness the positive impact of Aiyedatiwa leadership in the state
The traditional rulers expressed unwavering optimism that the Aiyedatiwa’s emergence will serve as a catalyst, which will propel him to deliver more dividends of democracy and exemplary services to the good people of Ondo State.
The traditional rulers who recently, before the APC primary, offered prayers for the success of the governor, describing him as the best candidate to continue his good jobs for the state.
The monarchs, who acknowledged with delight the respect the governor has for the traditional institution as demonstrated in some of his public and private engagements with the Royal Fathers, commended all the efforts of the Aiyedatiwa’s administration in moving the state forward.
They hailed successes recorded by the governor in his first 100 days in office, adding that Hon. Aiyedatiwa has done well for the people of the state and urging him not to misplace the trust of the people.
The royal fathers, however, appealed to the governor to reach out to his co-aspirants, while those who were aggrieved over the outcome of the primary should shield their swords in the interest of the state.
The Obas urge the political class in the state to remain peaceful as they prepare for the November 16, 2024, gubernatorial election, as no ambition is worth the lives of the citizens.
