Ona-Ara LG boss unveils 53 projects to mark 100 days in office

Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, Dr. Kolapo Glorious, is receiving accolades from the people of the local government as he marked 100 days in office with a record of over 50 interventions and projects for residents of the council

Among the projects are the construction of the council reception centre, remodelling of the council entrance and expansion of drainages in certain places like Binukonu-Osoaro River and Opeyemi/Irepodun Jagun.

Others include interlocking of Amuloko junction, clearing, evacuation and eradication of illegal dumpsite at Olorunsogo, launching of database,  foundation laying of Oba Ajibola Traditional Hall, empowerment, chlorination of wells, among others.

Expressing appreciation for the work ethics of the council boss and his achievements, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Jubril Dotun Sanusi, described the achievements as unprecedented and implored the people to cooperate with the government to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The vice chairman of the Traditional Council, the Oniladuntan of Laduntan, Oba Kamorudeen Adebowale, praised the efforts of the chairman for showcasing the arts of governance in the council and pledged their supports.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Demola Ojo, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Joel Olaleye Ajagbe, congratulated to the chairman and his team for the milestone and urged them to always reciprocate the vision of the state governor,   Seyi Makinde in line with development of the grassroots.

Ojo stressed that the present administration in the state will not leave any stone unturned in the repositioning of the grassroots and development of the state.

The chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area of the state, who is also the chairman of the ALGON, Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, commended Dr. Kolapo for a job well done and described their achievements as an effort of Governor Makinde’s foresight in the development of the local government areas in the state.

He however urged the people at the grassroots to always reciprocate the gestures and stop the acts of damaging government’s properties.

The council chairman gave assurance to the people of Ona-Ara that his administration will continue to deliver on his electioneering promises of good governance.

He noted that with over 50 impactful interventions and projects recorded in his 100 days, the people should expect more in the next few days as some ongoing projects will be unveiled and inaugurated.

He further expressed his mission to build a more prosperous and all -inclusive government, where the citizens, especially the vulnerable can thrive, expressing appreciation to the Legislative Council, Supervisory Councillors, Head of Local Government Administration,  Dr. Adedapo Atoyebi, all heads of departments, units heads and the entire staff for the cooperation so far and charged them to be more dedicated and united in his New Dawn Agenda of Repositioning and Remodelling the council as a model local government area in the state.

Activities lined up for the 100 days in office commemoration include cash empowerment of physically challenged people, distribution of foodstuff, toiletries and provisions to orphanage homes,  inauguration of remodelled local government secretariat, newly-constructed and furnished reception, distribution of  Fidelity Food Bank and Mega Phones to primary schools, among others.
