On workers’ salaries/wages

Published by

The axiom that a worker deserves his or her wages seems to have become a mere slogan across the country.

For months, thousands of workers have not been paid their wages. They live from hand to mouth, and are in fact worse than refugees in their own land.

It seems that the 36 state governors earn their wages every month. If that is the case, there is no valid reason why workers should be denied their wages.

Every Nigerian worker has family members and relations that depend on him or her. Thus, when salaries are not paid at the end of each month, all of these people suffer.

I urge the governors to evolve creative strategies to ensure that workers get their dues at all times.
