On nutrition and better health

The term nutrition simply focuses on healthy living, that is, the state of eating balanced diet for the development of the body, while to have a sound health is basically how an individual treats and maintains the body having enough sleep and not overworking oneself.

Consequently, healthful eating also means the intake of nutritious foods that nourish the body. It also means building strong bones, protecting the heart, preventing diseases and boosting the mood. In order to do this, there are foods to eat as well as those to equally stay away from.

According to research, there are foods one should eat minimally as they can be detrimental to the body system. They include foods saturated with fats such as cakes, pizza, fried foods, biscuits, potato chips, etc., or food and drinks with too much sugar such as carbonated drinks, artificial fruits drinks and also.

It is important to state that alcohol is not an option for an individual who wants to live healthy.

Foods with too much salt are not advisable as well because of the danger they pose to the health. As a matter of fact, eating the above listed foods can cause a whole lot of harm to the body system and by extension, lead to malnutrition and when malnutrition surfaces, diseases such as high blood pressure, heart problem, kwashiorkor and many others become inevitable.

On the other hand, there are foods that nourish the body and supply energy such as colorful vegetables, legumes/beans, fruits, grain (cereal) foods, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts, milk, yogurt, cheese, plenty of water, etc. These foods are mostly rich in proteins and good for body growth.

Furthermore, it is necessary to mention that eating well is not the only way of living healthy. There are other ways to live healthy such as exercising one’s body daily. One can engage in exercises such as jogging, swimming, squatting, jumping, climbing hills or stairs, dancing, biking, stretching, playing tennis or football in order to aid the flexibility of the body, allow easy flow of blood, reduce pains and so on, in the body.

In addition to the above, exercises have other benefits such as controlling body weight, supplying energy to the body, fighting diseases such as heart problem, stroke and high blood pressure, among others.
