Actress-turned producer, Bolanle Adebayo is not resting on her oars at the moment.
Despite the attention she has been getting in recent times, the beautiful actress who has appeared in several movies and series such as Nowhere to be found, The valley behind, Limpopo Chicks and others, the Ondo State-born thespian, who grew up in Lagos State, insisted that she would not be swayed by the attention but rather focus on her career.
Armed with a diploma in acting from the prestigious Something Magic Theatre Institute, South Africa and Business Administration from Lagos State Polytechnic, Adebayo looks set to launch herself on the movie industry in a special way as she now switches attention to movie production, an experience she described as ‘awesome’.
Her first stint as a movie producer in conjunction with Seun Oleketutyi’s Ultimate Production, brought about the popular movie, entitled Wages, which featured Jide Kosoko, Yvonne Jegede, Gbenga Adeyinka, Wole Ojo, Belindah Effa, Alex Ekubo and others.
Adebayo, who, in 2015, produced her first Yoruba movie, has now stepped it up with her latest flick, Scarred, where she played the lead role.
The films, which frowned on child abuse, paraded stars like Akin Lewis, Mercy Aigbe, Gbenga Adeyinka, Tina Mba, among others.
According to her, Scarred received the nod of the Lagos State government and has been the talk of the town since it hit the Silverbird Cinema on April 28. “I don’t want to be restricted to acting alone and that’s why I have taken it upon myself to start producing movies that will expose the ill in our society. For me, nothing is strong enough to stop this dream,” she said.
