Oluyinka Adewoye extends love to Makoko widows

The well-attended event, tagged ‘Day Out With Makoko Women’ was designed to cushion the effect of the economic hardship among the under-privileged and also bring smiles to the faces of the dejected within the community.

Convener of the Lawrence Grace Foudation, Oluyinka Adewoye harped on this as she stormed the slums of Makoko, Lagos some days ago to spread her message of love and kindness among the women.

‘Today is a special day to Celebrate with and put smiles on the faces of over 200 widows in Makoko community. This is one of our quarterly events for widows. Today’s event is for free medical consultation and medications, free empowerment training, free health talk, gifts of food items to help alleviate the food shortage and put smiles on the faces of the widows.  This is coming at this season of Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.’

Lawrence Grace Foundation is founded primarily on touching lives positively, reaching out to widows and indigent school children in less privileged societies by providing healthcare, free medications, empowerment programs, and gifts to support them.

The convener appreciated friends and families who contributed to the project and ensured the widows had a feel of the easter celebrations.

Oluyinka Adewoye also appealed to the government and other relevant authorities to prioritise the needs of the widows and indigent students in the society as this will further cushion the effects of the economic downturn on the people.
