The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is set to elevate Chief Barr. Tirimisiyu Fijabi Arowolo Obisesan and other senior chiefs in the Balogun line.

According to a letter signed by the Clerk to the Olubadan Advisory Council, Balogun Kolawole, the ceremony will take place on Friday at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, in the Ibadan North Local Government Area.

Senior Chief Obisesan will be promoted from his current position as Asaaju Balogun to Aare Alasa Balogun.

The promotions follow vacancies created by the passing of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, and Oba Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe, both of whom were in the Balogun line.

Recall that two Obas and senior chiefs in the same line were also elevated on the 30th August, 2024.

In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, Chief Obisesan expressed gratitude to the Kabiyesi and members of the Olubadan Advisory Council for preserving the rich culture of the land. Describing his elevation as a further call to service, he pledged to be a good ambassador of Ibadanland wherever he goes.
