Olubadan commends Police on improved security in Oyo

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has commended the police on an improved security situation in Oyo State.

Oba Olakulehin who also demanded fortification of the security within the palace, gave the commendation while receiving, on a courtesy visit, the State Commissioner of Police, Ayodele Sonubi, in his palace on Tuesday.

The monarch who spoke through the Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, noted that security has improved tremendously since the CP resumed but there is a need to fortify the security at the palace

Oba Olakulehin, who spoke through the Asipa Olubadan, said that the doors of the palace are widely open to the police boss and his men to see him whenever the need arises and requested for more security personnel to ensure the fortification of security within and outside the new palace.

Oba Olakulehin also stated that Ibadan is the home of many firsts and the political nucleus of the defunct Western region and will continue to play its leading role of setting the pace in the country and commended the CP for the job well done in the area of security of lives and property within the short period of his assumption.

Oba Olakulehin, in his words, said, “I appreciate the Commissioner of Police and his team for this courtesy visit to the palace. And I pray for them for more blessings and success in their career.

“I request for the fortification of security of life and property within the Palace, Ibadan, and Oyo State in general because, in order to enhance meaningful development, peace and tranquillity are necessary. On this note, I wish to enjoin you and your men not to relent in your efforts to make Ibadan and Oyo State a peaceful place to live for all and sundry.”.

Sonubi, earlier in his address, appreciated the Olubadan of Ibadanland and members of the Olubadan in council for accepting to receive him and his team within the short period of notice.

According to him, the main purpose of the visit was to seek the Olubadan’s blessings and appreciate the support received so far from the Olubadan, Olubadan-in-council, Mogajis, Baales, and the entire residents of Oyo State as a whole in the efforts of the command to maintain peaceful coexistence and curtail criminal activities in the state.

Sonubi further assured the Olubadan of Ibadanland of adequate security provision within and outside the palace.

He added that his promotion as the CP in the state came at the same time when the Olubadan was coronated as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The CP and his team later went on an inspection visit of the facilities within the recently commissioned palace.

At the event were the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Eddy Oyewole-Foko, Osi Balogun, Oba John Isioye-Dada, Asipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Amidu Ajibade, Ekaarun Olubadan, Oba Muritala Adebayo Akande, and Ekerin Balogun, High Chief Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin.
