He has never attempted to take his trade to the international scene like some of his ilk, which explains why he ‘rules the street’. In fact, suffice to say the street literally stays in his pocket.
He is not oblivious of who his target audieces are and does not fall short of exciting them with best of entertainment when the need arises. He never forgets how to tickle his fans because he knows music is the only language they understand.
Those who witnessed the crowd that besieged Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos State last Sunday to witness the magic brought town by Olamide during the sold-out Olamide Live In Concert 4 (OLIC4), would would agree that he is king in Ambode’s state.
From the rich number of artistes to the choice of venue, one may not be wrong to say the show which was attended by more than 10,000 people bore the hallmark of a good concert–In local parlance, the show was lit!
Small Doctor opened the floor with his Gbakoje fever, the audience chorused his songs in acknowledgment and set the tone of what was to come that night.
As the day snowballed into evening, every minute of the show was filled with magical moments of excessive fun and excitement.
It was supposed to be a free show but Olamide and his team attempted to control the crowd by asking for 1000 per head but that did not discouraged the people as they came out in their number to have fun.
With Phyno, Reminisce, Vector, Skiibi, Lil Kesh, and many more, no one would have expected less. They all gave the crowd more than they bargained and kept them on their toes for hours till Olamide himself took over.
Olaimde put in so much hard work and it paid off. The people love him and they showed him by waiting for his performance that took the ground to another height. They got ecstatic and yearned for more from their man.
The security on ground was solid as they had a filled day in their hands controlling the wild crowd.
December will remain one to remember for many who attended as some of them described the night as a perfect end of the year gift for them.
Meanwhile, From Teslim Balogun, the attention shifted to Eko Hotels and Suites, venue of Dele Momodu’s Ovation Red Carol, where hip pop star, Davido made a surprise performance to amusement of the audience.
No one at the gathering had a slight knowledge of the surprise stunt Davido was going pull on them because the 2-year beef between Momodu and Adeleke’s family over who takes custody of the Yomade, Davido’s baby was still fresh in the memory of the people.
It was the 10th year edition of the christmas Carol and the hall was filled to the brim with many gospel singers and their secular counterparts thrilling the audience when the Fall crooner sudddenly emerged from the crowd.
Momodu, who took to his Instagram page after the event said “True reconciliation, great joy joy. God bless Davido… God bless Dr Adedeji Adeleke for his uncommon maturity. We are a family”.
