Saheed, a passionate Inspector of Factories dedicated to ensuring industrial workplaces meet rigorous safety and health standards. With a strong educational background in Industrial Chemistry and relevant certifications, Saheed has been making a significant impact since joining the profession in December 2018.
Saheed’s journey into industrial safety began with a research project that exposed the alarming levels of carcinogenic compounds in water bodies receiving effluents from oil and gas reservoir treatment facilities. This discovery sparked a desire to mitigate such risks and protect both workers and the environment.
“As an Inspector of Factories, my goal is to empower factories to operate at the highest safety standards, recognizing their critical role in economic development,” Saheed explained. “I aim to prevent workplace accidents, safeguard employee well-being, and promote mental health awareness in industrial settings.”
Saheed has attended various conferences, including the maiden SOWSHE-A (Society of Women in Safety, Health and Environment – Africa) and the Leadership Reboot – 04 organized by the QHSES Leadership Academy. He is also actively involved in in-house training sessions for staff on critical safety measures and international labour conventions.
With a strong educational background, including certifications from the Department of Petroleum Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency, Saheed is committed to continuous professional development.
