Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola on Saturday described the demise of Pa Olaniwun Ajayi as the end of a great and principled man whose contributions to progressive politics in Nigeria over the years remained unparalleled.
In a condolence message on the death of Pa Ajayi, by the lawmaker and made available to newsmen in Abuja, he said that the deceased was a foremost progressive and anti-military rule fighter who along with others laid a solid foundation for the nation’s modern democracy ,
Senator Adeola lamented that Yorubaland and indeed the nation in general “will miss a man noted for his consistency in fighting for the emancipation of the people through advocacy of good governance and a progressive politics.”
He pointed out that the deceased’s loyalty and consistent adherence to the philosophy of late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo spanning over six decades “is a good example for politicians of today and future generation of politicians.”
According to the lawmaker,” his wise counsels backed by historical experiences would be sorely missed by Yorubaland and indeed Nigeria at this critical stage of our history.”
He then prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and the fortitude for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
