Olagunju wins best columnist award at NMMA

SATURDAY Tribune Editor, Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, has beaten other shortlisted columnists to emerge the winner of Alade Odunewu Prize for the Columnist category of the 2024 edition of the Nigeria Media Merit Awards.

Other shortlisted writers in category were: Abubakar Adam Ibrahim of Daily Trust and Tunde Odesola of The Punch newspaper.

Olagunju was presented with the award in Lagos on Sunday.

In a congratulatory messages, a Life Bencher and immediate past Attorney-General of Sokoto State, Dr. Sulaiman Usman (SAN), described the award as a testament of the recipient’s exceptional skill, unwavering dedication, and profound impact on the media landscape of our nation.

He added, “Your insightful columns have consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to engage, inform and inspire readers, tackling complex issues with clarity and depth.
