Okuwobi elected as NIPSS SLEAPM PRO

The National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, has been elected as the Public Relations Officer of the Strategic Leadership, Ethics and Policy Making (SLEAPM) Course 13.

In the keenly-contested positions, ACP Okuwobi pulled 40 votes to win over two other contestants.

A seasoned law enforcement officer, ACP Okuwobi has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at curbing cultism and other societal vices through strategic public engagement and advocacy.

With the new role given her, her position as a key voice in leadership and policy discussions in Nigeria has been further solidified.

The other executive members are the president, Al-Habib Ibrahim Usman; Vice President, Marie Olabisi Idaomi; Secretary General, Hobson Rudolf; Assistant Secretary General, Celestina Iregbeyen Alkpehae; Treasurer, Bose Joy Igbinobaro and Financial Secretary, Rabi Adamu Madani; Welfare 1, Omoruyi Ese Martina; Welfare 2, Daniel Tizhe Luka and Lillian Ijeoma Nana-Ahmed

The SLEAPM Course 13 was organised by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in collaboration with the Leadership and Professional Ethics Consult to stress the importance of raising strategic and ethical leaders capable of driving positive change in their respective organizations.

The training programme was designed to equip participants with critical leadership skills, ethical decision-making frameworks, and policy development strategies to navigate the complexities of governance and institutional management.

It also highlighted the necessity of embedding core ethical values in institutions, reinforcing governance structures, and ensuring that national policies undergo rigorous expert reviews before implementation to prevent policy failures.

Aside from Okuwobi, participants at the course included Area Commander, Ikeja, ACP Paul Okafor;

Edo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Bisi Idaomi; Director General, Delta State Agency for the Control of AIDS, Dr. Ruldoph Simaga Hudson; Director, Legal, Nigeria Television Authority, Barrister Onoshokhue Iregbeyen Celestina and Mrs Omoruyi Ese.

Others are Mrs Bose Joy Igbinobaro, Mr Joseph Nyamali, Tivfa Wombo and Stella Emetuche.
