Okowa, Zulum, CEPEJ bag national peace awards

Governors of Delta and Bornu states, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Professor Babagana Zulum have been awarded the best Governor for Peace and Conflict Resolution and All Round Best Governor in Nigeria, respectively.

This is just as the Director and CEO of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Comrade Sheriff Mulade received the Best National Peace NGO/Humanitarian Service of the Year award.

The awards were given at an event held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, recently.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, have the keynote address at the event.

He charged all Nigerians to support and promote peace across the nation to usher in the desired development.

The SGF asserted that peace was everyone’s responsibility, adding that the Buhari-led administration was doing its best to secure and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

The Convener of the award ceremony, Dr Suleiman Adejo of the Messengers of Peace, thanked the Federal Government for providing the enabling environment for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians in spite of the prevailing security challenges.
