Okere-Urhobo women endorse Tidi for Warri South state constituency II

Women of Okere-Urhobo kingdom in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, have thrown their weight behind the chairman of the local government, Dr. Michael Tidi, to run for Warri South state constituency 11 in the state’s House of Assembly.

The women under the aegis of Mothers of Okere-Urhobo for Michael Tidi, endorsed Tidi when they paid him a visit at the council’s secretariat.

Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs Agatha Tangbatsemi, said they decided to pay the chairman the visit to let him know that women of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom were solidly behind his aspiration to the state’s House of Assembly in 2023.

The group, comprising pioneer women leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, noted that Tidi had been divinely anointed by to represent the people of Warri South state constituency 11.

They said nobody could change what God had already confirmed, adding that nothing would stop the council chairman from clinching the ticket for the party.

“We are here to tell you that we, the Mothers of Okere-Urhobo for Michael Tidi, are solidly behind you. We have seen all what you have been doing for our people and we want to let the whole world know that we are with you.

“We are also here to thank you for all things you have been doing for us, women in Okere-Urhobo kingdom.

“What God has chosen no man can change it. Nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams. Nothing can stop you because the Warri South state constituency 11 seat is yours already,” the women said.

Responding, Tidi appreciated the women for the visit, saying the visit meant a lot to him.

He promised not to let them down when he eventually gets the House of Assembly’s ticket, stressing that there were lot of things to be done for the people of Warri South state constituency 11.

He said Warri South Constituency 11 needed young and vibrant men and women who would not go to the Assembly to warm chairs, but people who will go to their to make laws that will bring development to the constituency.

Tidi assured the Okere-Urhobo women that he would consolidate on the existing peace he has built in Warri South council when he gets to the state Assembly.

The group that led by a senior chief of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Chief Alice Ajemgbitse, include Madam Lusi Okorosobo, Madam Agatha Tangbatsemi, Madam Esijolomi Esi, Mrs Roseline Otomi, Mrs Victoria Aghogho.

Others are Mrs Janet Amuru, Mrs Kake Omosowhofa, Mrs Chioma Aguheva, Mrs Stella Bethel and Mrs Vero Umurhie.
