Oke-Ogun 1 zone to produce next Oyo APC Chairman

Ahead of Saturday’s state congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, leaders of the party have arrived at a zoning template for the state executive committee.

Among others, the meeting also resolved that all elective positions, especially governor, deputy governor and Senators in 2023 are open to all the 33 local government areas of the state.

At the meeting held at the Ibadan residence of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, on Wednesday, leaders of the party resolved that Oke-Ogun 1 zone will produce the next state Chairman.

Ibarapa zone is to produce the next state deputy Chairman while the state Secretary is to emerge from the Oyo zone.

The meeting where the zoning formula was adopted had in attendance, State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke; former deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake; Chief Samuel Adegbiji Adekola, C.A Ajibade, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, B.A Ajibade; former speaker and serving minority leader of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Asimiyu Alarape; Chief Kunle Sanda, Chief Timothy Alarape Jolaoso and Mogaji Banji Olorode.

Aside from producing the next Chairman, Oke-Ogun 1 will also produce the Senatorial Youth Leader, Assistant Financial Secretary and Assistant Welfare Officer.

The State Organising Secretary, State Legal Adviser, Deputy Youth Leader (North), Senatorial Women Leader, Deputy State Women Leader and ex Officio, will emerge from Oke-Ogun 2.

The template also shows that Ogbomoso zones will produce the State Youth Leader, State Financial Secretary, Senatorial Chairman, State Assistant Auditor, Senatorial Women Leader and Ex Officio.

Ibarapa zone where the state deputy Chairman was zone will also bring forth the State Welfare Officer, Senatorial Youth Leader (South) and Assistant Treasurer.

Beyond having the next Secretary, the Oyo zone is also tasked to produce the State Auditor, Assistant Organising Secretary and Assistant State PRO to Oyo zone.

Meanwhile, Ibadan City got State Women Leader, assistant secretary, Physically Challenged, Senatorial Chairman, Senatorial Women Leader and Ex Officio while Ibadan Less City got publicity secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Secretary, Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, assistant legal Adviser, Senatorial youth leader and ex Officio.

Recall that the Oyo APC Stakeholders meeting of Monday had mandated former Governor Alao-Akala; outgoing state chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke and seven party’s zonal leader to meet work out modalities and produce a final document that would accommodate all interests in Saturday’s congress of the party.
