Oke-Amu monarch lauds indigenes over development

The Ologunwa of Oke-Amuland, in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Kasali  Omotosho Fadeyi I, has lauded the efforts of the Oke-Amu Prestige Elite Club over the promotion of education, unity and community development.

This is just as the club concluded its 2025 three-day homecoming event which featured community support, educational initiatives, spiritual engagements and humanitarian efforts.

Speaking when the members of the club led by their president, who is also the Asiwaju of Oke-Amu, Chief Mukaila Adewale Oseni, paid a visit to his palaca as part of the annual event, the monarch commended the club’s efforts at fostering development and promoting unity in the community.

Oba Omotosho, in his remarks, lauded the club’s initiative and encouraged them to sustain their efforts in driving positive change.

The home coming event kicked off with visits to selected primary schools in the community, where members addressed the pupils and presented them with basic school supplies to make teaching and learning conducive for them.

The schools visited included Muslim Community Basic School, L.A. Basic School, Alaganran Basic School, Olugunwa Community Basic School and Nomadic Basic School, Alaworo.

The club’s president expressed gratitude to the management of the schools for their steadfast commitment to improving education in the community.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the school and commended their efforts in fostering academic progress despite the odds.

The club’s secretary, Hassan Ogundoke, also emphasised that all members were products of Oke-Amu community and now hold prominent positions in reputable organisations.

Addressing the pupils, Ogundoke noted that he and other members of the club once sat in the same classrooms as they did, encouraging them to remain focused on their education, which is the foundation of success.

“We are here today because of the education we received and we want to leave a lasting impact on your lives,” he stated.

The headmaster of the Muslim Community Basic School, who appreciated the club’s visit and their continued efforts to strengthen education in Oke-Amu, highlighted the school’s pressing needs, including the renovation of classrooms, provision of furniture, a laboratory and a school bus.

In the same vein, the management of all the schools visited took turn to address the visitors and also highlighted the challenges they were facing.

During the event, the club distributed palliatives which include essential food items and other supplies to identified with the underprivileged individuals in the community to ease the burden of daily living for those in need.
