In his quest to boost food security and production in his constituency, the lawmaker representing Irepo, Olorunsogo, Oorelope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Olumide Ojerinde, has distributed soya beans seedlings and cash to farmers.
This was a sequel to similar training and he facilitated for cassava and yam farmers in his constituency, where experts trained the farmers on modern techniques of their trade.
Hon Ojerinde also gave inputs and financial assistance to the trainees at the empowerment programme which was for mainly youths and women in “Soya Beans for Value Addition.”

An expert, Dr (Mrs) Okunlade Sijuade, trained the participants on modern techniques in soya beans cultivation and how to transform the crop into different kinds of finished products which she said were in high demand in the market.
She also highlighted the benefits of soya beans farming to the Nigerian economy, saying it would encourage many to invest in the farming of the crop on a large scale.
Also speaking at the event, an aide of Hon Ojerinde, Mr Abiodun Adeyemi, charged the beneficiaries to make the best of the opportunity and also called on the participants to keep praying for the lawmaker and support him to roll out more meaningful community-based empowerment programmes that would improve the well-being of the people of the federal constituency.
